The Advantage series nasal masks offer many beneficial features that meet your CPAP and BiPAP needs.
The Advantage offers a triple seal cushion that conforms to the facial features of the patient, thereby providing a precise fit and a good seal. Patients need a stable and consistent seal from their mask interface to maintain the positive airway pressure that keeps their airways open while sleeping. Leaks have a greater chance of occurring when there are gaps in the contact between the face and the mask cushion. A cushion that adapts to the patient’s facial features is therefore advantageous in terms of keeping the mask in place. A soft silicone forehead pad helps stabilize the mask and maintain the seal.
An efficient mask seal is important for CPAP therapy. Patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) cannot achieve restful sleep through the night because their airways collapse and become obstructed as they sleep, causing difficulties in breathing.
Breathing difficulties prevent these patients from sleeping soundly. CPAP therapy applies continuous positive airway pressure through the patient’s airways to prevent airway collapse or obstruction. With CPAP therapy, the patient can breathe normally while sleeping and get a full night’s sleep.
Mask seals can be disrupted by patient movement, which can knock the mask askew. For this mask system, movement is absorbed by the shock-absorbing flexible bellows located on the nasal bridge of the mask. These bellows help to further fix the mask in place and keep the seal for active sleepers.
The Advantage is designed with consideration of bed partners. Exhalation of air is quietly diffused. The low profile elbow vent directs the air at a downward angle so as not to disturb bed partners.
Users will find that this mask is an excellent solution for their CPAP and BiPAP needs.
